- How much does MCP's Emergency Alert cost?
MCP Emergency Alert has a two-part pricing structure: a one-time Account Activation and Set-up fee and an Annual Per-Subscriber Operating fee. Both fees are based on the size of your subscriber population. While variable, the cost is typically pennies per subscriber per year over the life of your participation in the program. These costs can be partially or completely offset by participation in the MCP Educate Program.
- How will MCP provide a revenue stream to my institution?
MCP works with you to build an "ecosystem" of interested participants. Students, faculty, parents, extended family and alumni can opt in to receive both school-related text messages and pertinent promotional offers from local and national businesses. Merchants pay MCP for the right to participate in the community program. MCP rebates a portion of those net revenues to the school. As the program continues to grow and mature, revenues to your institution may actually exceed the annual costs of MCP Emergency Alert.
- Are students and faculty charged for text messages from local businesses?
MCP provides messages to students and faculty free of charge. However, the cost of receiving individual text messages depends on each individual recipient's plan with his or her wireless service provider (e.g., Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, etc.).
- Do we need to provide special phones, or sign up with just one carrier?
MCP Emergency Alert is compatible with any phone and with all wireless service providers.
- Is MCP Emergency Alert only for educational institutions?
No. MCP Emergency Alert can help any organization that needs to quickly, efficiently and cost-effectively disseminate critical messages to employees or other constituents.
- How can we quantify the expected revenue stream to our institution?
Merchant and business members of the MCP Educate program pay a monthly participation fee. Your school would benefit from a revenue-sharing arrangement.
- How do we know our message will be received in the event of an emergency?
MCP provides a web interface to our iDMS platform and has dedicated services for MCP Emergency Alert. School administrators can track messages sent and received through our online reporting tools. MCP views post-incident reporting and monitoring as a critical component of any emergency broadcast situation. We also provide a 24x7 help line in case of incidents where you don't have access to the Internet for round-the-clock coverage.
- Is MCP Emergency Alert available as a standalone solution?
Yes. However, by combining MCP Emergency Alert with the MCP Educate Program, you can have the best of both worlds: a world-class emergency broadcast alert system and a revenue-generating program.
